Description

N2ITIVE is ecstatic to announce our new TARTAN series of products developed specifically for the new “Palladium” Tesla Model S and Xs.  Building on our knowledge from developing the first adjustable rear camber arms for the earlier Tesla Model S/Xs, we have developed our high pressure forged, semi-hollow adjustable rear camber arms, or the “SX-P2”.  These are the only fully forged, adjustable Tesla camber arms in the world!  As you’ve come to expect from N2itive, we’re pushing the envelope even further this time in ease of adjustment, strength, quality, and design.  These new arms boast a host of improvements compared to the rest of the market.

Our forging process provides reduced weight and a substantial increase in ultimate tensile strength over standard CNC/billet aluminum manufactured control arms, as high pressure forging creates a grain structure that flows throughout the piece to increase the strength and structural integrity of the part.  Furthermore, we are continuing to use our forged, adjustable Chromoly rod with our custom spherical bushing newly integrated inside of.  This allows for a lighter and lower profile rod end since there is no need for a sleeve around the bushing.  The opposite side of the control arm also retains a new custom spherical bushing as well.  Dual spherical bushings are assembled in each arm for increased flexibility in articulation, as this is especially helpful under high torque environments like that of a Model S/X Plaid.

These new arms also offer our latest adjustment system to allow for easy access to the adjustment mechanism for speedy and super accurate alignments with the wheels on.  This new design also sports a revised single bolt clamping mechanism on the arm for faster and more accurate torque, eliminating the possibility for technician errors.  Neoprene closed cell foam gaskets are also included in our arms to keep water and corrosive salts out of the adjustment mechanism.

Unlike some of our competition, our rear adjustable camber arms allow you to adjust camber from the top of the wheel rather than from two points at the bottom of the wheels.  Adjustment from the top of the suspension is ideal geometrically, as the arm naturally sits perpendicular to the wheel rather than at an angle when adjusting camber from the lower control arms.  This allows the technician to align the car quickly and more intuitively without disturbing the original geometry and maintaining correct bump steer.  There is no need for the guess work involved with shims to compensate for the camber or the added complication of two separate arms on each side.  While designing the more complex camber arm has cost us significantly more than the simple lower control arms, we know it’s the right way to do it and still make our offering at a reasonable price.  The SX-P2 will provide a lifetime of hassle free and accurate camber alignment for both street and track use.

Inner Tire Wear Damage On The Tesla Model S and X

Negative camber has always been a problem with the Model S/X, but this is especially true now as your ride height automatically lowers to the “Low” position at highway speeds, introducing even more negative camber and eating away at the inner edge of your tires.  If you drive your Tesla in the lower suspension settings or if you are using lowering links, these adjustable camber arms are a must.  Our arms allow you to greatly extend tire life and will pay for themselves likely within the year, there aren’t too many products you can buy with this substantial of a return on investment!  The SX-P2 arms are a direct drop-in replacement for the original Tesla rear upper camber arms and come preset with 5mm of camber correction compared to the OEM non-adjustable arms.  All of our products are made with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship for years of endurance.  Our new patent pending design makes these arms super easy to adjust for a quick hassle-free alignment with the wheels on!

Our SX-P2 comes with the choice of three finish options; an anodized red and clear versions (both with a 3-year warranty) and our top of the line version which is the anodized black finish with lifetime warranty.  This version comes with our new patent pending, multi-alignment kit with a built-in scale which allows the user to recall multiple alignments without the need to go back to an alignment shop.  This is ideal for those who travel to the track and want to dial in a particular alignment at the track and switch to a more street sensible alignment for daily driving.  This version also comes with a lifetime warranty which includes wear and tear on the bushings.

Installation

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: SX-P2

Estimated Labor: 1-2 hours
Parts and Tools Necessary:
-16mm, 21mm wrenches and sockets
-T30 Torx bit
-8mm Allen key
-Screwdriver or other small prying device
-Torque Wrench

BEFORE INSTALL:
-If the vehicle is equipped with air suspension, activate “Jack Mode” through the touchscreen before lifting the vehicle. The air suspension will attempt to self-level otherwise, which may cause serious damage, bodily injury, or death.
-Make yourself familiar with the proper way to jack and lift your Tesla before attempting installation.

REMOVAL
1. Jack the vehicle up from the appropriate lift areas, as shown below. Using lift pads between the jack and the vehicle’s frame is highly recommended in order to avoid damaging the vehicle.
2. Loosen the lug nuts (21mm) and remove the wheel.
3. Remove the clip that attaches the wiring harness to the knuckle. A small prying device may aid in removal.
4. Remove the bolts that connect the camber arm to the subframe (16mm).
5. Remove the bolt that connects the camber arm to the knuckle (21mm).
6. Remove the camber arm from the vehicle. If you are having trouble removing the camber arms, rocking the knuckle/hub may aid in loosening and removing the arm.

INSTALLATION
1. Verify that the arm being installed is correct, as the SX-P2 is mirrored for the driver and passenger sides. Although the arm is approximately stock length, decreasing the length by about 5mm will make the reinstall easier. The rod-end bushing is to be installed on the subframe side.
2. Realign and hand-tighten the bolts in their original positions. DO NOT torque the nuts or bolts at this stage.
3. Preload the suspension before torquing down the bolts. This can be done by jacking the knuckle up until the suspension is fully loaded. The car itself should feel like it is about to lift and the hub should be positioned as if the car was sitting on the floor. This step is critical in ensuring the bushings are correctly positioned when you drive the car.
4. Torque the bolts down to their appropriate settings. The bolts towards the subframe should be torqued to 63 ft/lbs (85Nm), and the knuckle side should be torqued to 111 ft/lbs (150Nm).
5. Reinstall the wiring harness to the bracket on the knuckle. Extend the arm back to stock length if it was shortened in step 1.
6. Remount the wheels back on the vehicle and torque down the lug nuts to 129 ft/lbs (175 Nm). Make sure to remove all jack stands and tools from under the vehicle before you let it down.

ADJUSTMENT
-Adjustment of the SX-P2 is to be made using the 30mm wrench provided along with the arms. Other wrenches will likely be too large and damage the bracket (for the black lifetime finish).
-Loosen the T30 Torx bolt on the black collar as well as the 8mm allen bolt on the body of the arm. Both of these bolts must be loose for adjustment to be made.
-Tighten or rotate the adjuster clockwise in order to increase negative camber. Loosening or rotating the adjuster counter-clockwise will reduce negative camber.
-Once you are done adjusting, torque the 8mm and T30 bolts to spec. The 8mm allen should be tightened to 42ft/lbs or 56 Nm, and the T30 Torx to 8 ft/lbs or 11 Nm. Make sure the collar with the T30 is aligned with the rod end to avoid damage while driving.

    In todays climate I had a hard time finding many companies who make an outstanding product, fit PERFECT and are willing to talk to you through the day and evening to help answer questions about the install; Then I met N2itive. Don, Tim and the crew have gone above and beyond to create an amazing set of products and then pile on killer customer service. Don was willing to assist with the purchasing to working with me to get the finishing touches for lower links. The S Build we are working on it one step closer to riding smooth and in style.     The products I’ve been looking for. When you hold the camber arms in your hands you might think these parts are sent from godfather CNC. High quality look and fit.
    Concerning the lowering links (they sent me the newest V3) I can tell you this is precision stuff we are talking about.
    A lot of MS come with a big difference in height on every wheel and Tesla seems to have a high tolerance on this issue when delivering those MS.
    So was my Plaid but not any longer since the lowering links have been installed and every corner could be set to same level.

    I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and installation and the ride feels and “looks” so much better than stock. Hopefully my rear tires will thank me later for allowing them to actually be used for the recommended tread duration timeline they are intended for!
